6:30 – 7:00 pm Our Annual AGM, Election of Officers, Financial reports.   Open positions are:  Secretary/Treasurer and Chairperson.  If you are interested in either of these volunteer positions please step forward.
Even though this is a yearly business meeting we will still have a presentation from 7:00 – 9:00.  Please plan to attend.
Crop Circles

Each year during the months of June, July and August an unexplainable phenomenon appears in the crops of wheat, barley and oats in the surrounding areas in and around Wiltshire, England. Since 1998 these marvelous pieces of ‘Art’ that are so distinctly laid on a canvas of grain, have been growing in complexity and detail. Questions one finds themselves asking are:  “Who is responsible, Why is this area the most prevalent to this spectacular phenomenon, Are they meant to give us a message, How on Earth are they made?”

Join us for an evening’s presentation to hear what the experts in the Crop Circle community have to say by addressing questions asked in unbiased interviews while giving an overview of the history of this mysterious happening. An informative 80 minute DVD, #1 in a 3 part series, will be shown and presented by Gwen Wiberg Eldowy – tour operator and owner of Epic Quests for Discovery – Calgary, Alberta. During her latest customized small group Quest in June 2011; her 10 day exploration of mystical England included the most exhilarating opportunity to lay in newly formed crop circles with her private group.  To add an additional highlight, Mr. Michael Glickman, well known crop circle expert and architect by trade, invited all to his private home to answer questions first- hand about what he has learned (and not learned) over these past many years during his intensive study of the phenomenon.
Our world is changing and this presentation is sure to peak your interest and get you to ask ‘What On Earth are we being shown and Why?’

September 23 (Friday evening) – Our Annual Road Trip and we go once again to Rothney Astrophysical Observatory.  The presentation will be:
Living with a Star: What causes the ethereal, dancing Aurora Borealis? What are the effects of the bursts of charged particles that race from the sun towards earth? What will occur on earth during the upcoming high-energy solar maximum period during 2012. Learn more about the latest research by University of Calgary
scientists that focuses on the sun and its effects on the earth. In the sky on September 23rd, there are equal amounts of the daylight and darkness on the earth’s equator marking the fall equinox, also the orbit of Uranus is at its closest to earth so it will be possible to see in a dark sky.We had such a wonderful time last year – with the above topics as our focus this trip promises to be extraordinary!  Plan to attend.  Once again – members will be given preference. 

Look to the attachment for a map to the Observatory.  If you need a ride, let me know.  Reminder – you must dress very warm, the observatory is open to the weather and we must be outside to see the stars.  This is a late evening – the best time to see the stars is late at night!
